COP26 challenges and our commitment

COP26 in Glasgow is in the midst of negotiations. It began on October 31 and will end on November 12 – hopefully with ambitious measures that can effectively respond to the climate crisis global challenges. The prerequisite for any decision is that we work together, doing our part.
We as Fedrigoni Group have adopted a new sustainability roadmap for 2030 and are working every day to make progress towards a more sustainable business model, aiming to grow responsibly. We are investing in the efficiency of our production sites, from the best use of raw materials to a reduced use of energy, always ensuring high quality products all over the world.

However, we cannot pursue this path of huge change alone, especially as regards the reduction of emissions, one of the biggest challenges for us.
With full confidence in the institutions, we ask for additional and collective measures from the government, clear rules and European funding to support the initiatives and investments undertaken by companies. We ask the electricity suppliers to make available more and more energy from renewable sources at a reasonable price; and that the suppliers of thermal energy (methane gas that feeds our cogenerators) give us a clear timetable regarding when technology will be introduced to replace methane, so that we can plan in time the investments necessary to renew our production plants.
