Our goal for 2030

For us the concept of sustainability is not limited to our own production processes but extends to the entire supply chain — fostering the spread of concrete, ethical practices along the entire value chain and driving change in the industry, including anticipating the evolution of regulatory frameworks.

Procurement is sustainable when we can guarantee products and services we purchase and use to have a minimal environmental footprint and positive social impact. A crucial aspect for our “Making Progress” approach, based on collaboration with all our suppliers worldwide and sharing values and goals to pursue specific and measurable initiatives. By 2030, our goal is to have 95% of our supplier spending base qualified according to ESG criteria, up from 50% in 2020, the base year.

A stronger sustainable procurement through collaboration

Constant collaboration and exchange of experiences, together with the integration of ESG criteria into our purchasing and evaluation strategy, are the key elements behind a fruitful sustainable procurement programme. Plus, thanks to the implementation of the Ecovadis Platform, assessment is managed by an organisation specialised in measuring the “ESG Rating” of suppliers. Such ESG ranking criteria are going to be ever more specific by product category and geographic area being factored ever more closely into our choice of companies we plan to work with.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on our 2030 sustainability goals, with a particular emphasis on circular product design, decarbonization, and stronger supplier engagement. Through initiatives like the EcoVadis Academy, we continue to drive industry-wide progress, reinforcing the idea that collaboration is the key to a more sustainable business.
