The Ex Club Challenge: Empowering Young Talents to Shape the Future of Luxury Packaging

The Ex Club Challenge, launched by Fedrigoni, brought together over 800 students and recent graduates from across Italy and Spain to explore the future of luxury packaging. Designed to amplify the voices of the next generation, the initiative encouraged young talents to push the boundaries of creativity, sustainability, and innovation.

With participants from more than 10 nationalities and diverse academic backgrounds — including design, materials science, communication, marketing and engineering — the Ex Club Challenge offered a platform for fresh perspectives on the evolving role of packaging in a changing world.

The brief called for forward-thinking concepts for bags, boxes, and labels capable of delivering a lasting impact — extending well beyond the product itself. Projects were evaluated for their circularity, technological integration, and ability to create emotional resonance through material and form.

Throughout the journey, participants had the opportunity to engage with Fedrigoni professionals — experts in special paper, self-adhesive materials, and packaging innovation — who offered guidance, insights, and inspiration. This informal exchange supported the participants as they shaped their ideas into compelling, forward-looking proposals.

Following the national finals in Italy and Spain, the most outstanding teams were invited to present their projects at the Fedrigoni Creative Summit 2025 in Paris. There, they joined a global audience of designers, brands, printers, and sustainability experts.

By placing emerging voices at the center of a leading industry event, the Ex Club Challenge underscored the importance of intergenerational dialogue and the need to cultivate creative leadership for the years ahead.
