Rodrigo Lacerda (formerly Bostik) will take over the Self-Adhesives business unit and Fulvio Capussotti will lead RFID, Innovation, ESG and Energy Transition

On the other hand, Capussotti will take on a new threefold challenge: to accelerate our growth in RFID, to lead ESG and Energy Transition strategy, and to drive the newly created group Innovation function,” comments CEO Marco Nespolo.

The deal, sixteen months after the industrial partnership between the two firms,
is the third M&A this year. “We will now be able to produce and distribute to customers a wide range of Fedrigoni high value-added papers directly in North America, and expand access to Mohawk specialty papers internationally” comments Marco Nespolo, CEO at Fedrigoni Group.

The deal will further expand the product portfolio in the translucent paper segment, which has
the potential to increasingly replace plastic in packaging as a fully recyclable monomaterial. With its first paper mill in China, the Group strengthens its geographic presence in the Asian market, where it already has an extensive distribution network and a self-adhesive materials production plant in Hefei and a RFID inlays and tags manufacturing plant in Guangzhou.

Fedrigoni has announced the acquisition – through a capital increase – of a minority stake in SharpEnd / io.tt, the IoT consulting and solutions company led by Cameron Worth, CEO, and founder. The operation is part of a new corporate venture capital program that Fedrigoni has initiated to identify start-ups with which to accelerate the innovation process and acquire new technologies.

Semester Results: A decrease in performance compared to 2022 but higher than the industry average and steadily growing since 2021. The Group concludes the first half of 2023 with €971.0 million in revenue (-9.9% compared to the first half of 2022), €150.9 million in EBITDA (-9.2%), and an EBITDA Margin (15.5%) in line with 2022, with performance superior to the industry average.

Tomorrow’s challenges are won by innovating today: a large area of 3,000 square metres next to the Verona office will host the Research Development & Innovation, the FedLab incubator for innovative ideas, the Customer Experience Centre and the Customer Academy.

Fedrigoni ended 2022 with a proforma turnover of EUR 2.2111 billion (+37% on 2021), a proforma. Ebitda of EUR 3401 million (+54%) and investments of approximately EUR 80 million.
Growth continued for both business units, which are increasingly positioned towards premium
segments: +43% turnover for specialty papers and +31% for self-adhesives.

Mohawk and Fedrigoni are pleased to share the next step in the evolution of their partnership. Mohawk will be the North American distribution partner for Fedrigoni Specialty Papers, effective July 2023.

The first transaction is aimed at strengthening its presence in the Asian market, the second is a further step to reinforce its research, development, and innovation capabilities
in the RFID, printed electronics, and advanced research on paper substrates. Both operations were formerly part of the Arjowiggins Group.
